How Will an HVAC Operational Assessment Impact Your Facility’s Bottom Line?

Published: February, 4 2016

You’ve probably heard the cliché, “Failing to plan is just planning to fail.”

Well, it wouldn’t be a cliché if it weren’t true.

When our service group is called in to provide an estimate or size up a solution for one of our commercial facility clients, they do so with a plan in mind. No, it’s not a prepared script that lays out the top-dollar option and why it’s really the only option on the table.

Instead, the plan we use takes many different factors into account and is based on numerous client criteria;  we call it an Operational Assessment.

What is an Operational Assessment?

Essentially, the Operational Assessment is your guarantee that every single job we do is starting with a clean slate. Although we believe our techs are the finest in the world, and we rely on their depth of knowledge and years of experience, we also realize that every single facility and every request is a completely new project.

There are no cookie-cutter solutions in the Engineered Cooling toolbox. There’s only a personalized, fresh take on each client’s energy efficiency needs, based on the Operational Assessment.

The Operational Assessment is a survey of the facility itself, taking into account numerous factors including:

  • Historical building performance
  • Past, present, and projected future energy usage
  • The physical building layout/design
  • The age/design of existing equipment
  • The knowledge and experience of facility staff

In addition, a complete analysis of the current equipment’s mechanical integrity, and feasibility studies to evaluate system design, performance, energy usage, and building operations are included in the assessment.

The end result is a comprehensive rundown of what equipment and services are or are not needed, along with:

  • Where to find utility rebates
  • Ways to lower energy bills
  • How to improve equipment performance
  • How to reduce the risk of equipment failure
  • Ideas for improving redundancy and operational reliability

All of the above is provided in a prioritized list in order of urgency and system impact to provide a facilities management plan that is both efficient and cost-effective.

As you can see, the whole point of an Operational Assessment is not to sell you on the most expensive plan available, but to determine exactly what your facility needs to save energy and money in the long run, and to offer you the information you need to make an informed decision going forward.

So how is an Operational Assessment going to affect your bottom line?

This kind of in-depth, personalized evaluation can only have one foreseeable effect:It’s going to save you time and money for years to come because your facility will be running at peak performance while using the bare minimum energy necessary to accomplish that. Utility costs will be lower, maintenance costs will be lower, and repair/replacement costs will be lower.

If you’re ready to see this happen at your facility, set up an Operational Assessment by Engineered Cooling today.
